3. Your first cage

Before looking for your first cage, make sure you have done the previously mentioned measuring steps well. The better you have measured, the better your first experience will be.

While looking for your first cage it is usually recommended to look at cages with a length that is around 2cm or 0.7-0.8 inches smaller than your length measurement. Most people usually go for a slightly bigger option, but in most cases a smaller cage feels a lot nicer to wear. You should be aiming for the smallest cage that fits you comfortably.

With that it is also recommended to think about getting a cheap cage as your first cage. It is extremely rare that you will find a cage that will fit you perfectly the first time. So try to not get lured by the pretty, expensive cages, but first make sure you got the measurements spot on. To help with this, try looking into a cage that comes with multiple rings. With multiple rings you can quite easily figure out your perfect ring size, which makes it so you only have to think about cage length from then on. Cheap plastic cages usually should come with multiple rings, but be sure to check before buying.

Some cage recommendations here would be:
- CB 6000, preferably a knockoff
- Mancage
